What is aerogel? Well, probably the strongest "gas" you'll ever see. With a density of 90 - 99.8% air, it is the thinest "hard" material. Made of various carbons and silicas, it can sustain up to 2000 times it's own weight. A new, not yet published recipe of aerogel is reported to sustain 100,000 it's own weight.
